Jeff Zacharias is an emerging, self taught artist out of Winkler Manitoba. He has always dabbled with art in varying forms. Starting at the young age of 3 where he took a simple liquid embroidery print of a carousel horse and made it into a pasture scene including a fence with grass growing at the base of it, a tree, the sunshine and a kite flying! Jeff's love for animals is evident in his wildlife paintings. His layering and brush techniques give the coats of animals an almost 3D look. Backgrounds are often blurred which helps to bring out the main subject of the painting. People often will ask,”How do you get the fur to look like that?” He is often told that his paintings catch the spirit of the animal and has been told that some of his paintings have a 3D appearance to them.
